Spring burst from the grounds’ pores
ferociously ripping green ribbons
flying them in the wind
the sun’s cape ripped off
gloriously exposed.
I was swept in this furious tide
scarcely catching my breath
as I relieved myself of laughter
quickened, I burst into life.
A victory dance shook out from me
ushered by a gentle breeze
and lifted with a sun kiss
I paid homage to the resurrection.
I felt as though I were dead
puffed back to life with sweet breath
tangled with sticky optimism
perhaps even foolish hubris.
I’m dancing my way to the shore
to lap in the tears of winters
shed in ecstatic joy
at the moment of climax
when the possibilities felt infinite.
