As I lay half sleeping under my sheets
the sun descend upon me like a
picnic blanket laid upon a lush lawn
softly floating, gently canvassing
lying light upon my skin
I lie floating on a lake of blue quilts and sheets
next to you like an otter holding hands
ne’er to float away in the night
no matter where our dreams float and fly
your eyes sit softly closed as drapes blowing in the breeze
they part to see mine gazing and matching
as the smile slides across your lips
then you reach for me, closing your eyes to preserve the moment
to snuggle into the comfortable nest of morningtide
leaving me to slowly slip beneath the surface
and gulp in the love like liquid around me
